Newer and more versatile innovations are entering the textile industry and evolving. Non-woven fabric is an innovation of non-woven fabric manufacturers in recent years. The textile industry has become an extremely important field. These fabrics are soft, affordable, stretchy and can be produced environmentally friendly.

Nowadays, fashion and clothing brands highly choose nonwoven fabrics to design bags and garments. It is simply a unique fabric that is neither woven nor knitted, made of short and long fibers that are bonded together through mechanical, chemical and heat treatments. Not only fashion brands but also other industries such as commercial, household and healthcare prefer nonwovens over woven or knitted fabrics. Hereby, the following 6 common non-woven fabrics are listed.

Non-woven spunbond

Spunbond polypropylene fabrics are mostly used for everyday applications. Nonwovens are one of the most commonly used materials in the fashion and apparel industry due to their versatility and durability. This fiber can be made biodegradable by using biodegradable fibers. Fiber spinning, web forming and bonding processes produce this type of fiber.

Non-woven spunlace

Extremely soft and comfortable fabrics such as spunlace cloth are widely used in skin care products such as facial masks and wet wipes. This type of fabric is produced by bonding together polymer chips, staple fibers or filaments using air, mechanical or hydroentangling methods.

Thermally bonded nonwoven

Thermally bonded nonwovens are thinner and stiffer than other nonwoven fibers that are softer and more comfortable. Thermally bonded nonwovens are produced by a thermal bonding or “melt bonding” process, also commonly known as thermal bonding. During this process, the web melts at the fiber intersections. The web is passed through extreme heat, such as pressurized steam and hot air.

Airlaid Nonwovens

Airlaid nonwovens are also known as dry paper or airlaid nonwovens. Cheap and biodegradable products are mostly obtained by air-laying technology. Airforming or air-laying is a method of making a web by mixing fibers with air to form a homogeneous air-fiber mixture. The mixture is then deposited onto an air-permeable moving belt.

Stitch-bonded non-woven polypropylene fabric

This is a “dry” non-woven fabric. It is made on a loom that helps bond the web and hold it in place. Thanks to this method, the fabric has a very soft texture, almost like the original net. Stitch-woven fabrics have a flatter surface than other nonwovens, making them more flexible. Bags, curtains, shoes, etc. are all products using stitch-bonded non-woven fabrics. As a high-quality non-woven fabric supplier in China, we can provide pp non-woven bags and pp non-woven shopping bags for overseas customers. Direct spun nonwovens

Conveyor belts are made by directly spinning non-woven fabrics and spraying glue on the fibers to form a strong bond. Usually we call it direct spinning nonwovens. If the primary fibers are deformed by heat, the bonding process does not require glue; however, the process may vary. Which of these are you going to use in your next design?
